Bay of Islands, New Zealand Photography

Paihia, Bay of Islands. Dawn after a crazy storm.  Magic happens when we least expect it. Dawn comes from an old English verb DAGIAN "To Become Day"    The beginning of the twilight before sunrise, it is recognised by the presence of weak sunlight, while the sun is still below the horizon.  Standing in the darkness with my tripod deep in water, restricts me from moving as i worry the incoming tide will unbalance tripod.  (Just me worrying too much :-) Standing & waiting for the light show to being is very liberating.  U simply have time to reflect on the elements around you. Capturing The Golden Hour

Golden Hour. There is a magical hour, a time when the light from the sun shines on the Earth from the side. During this hour, light is warm, soft, and perfect for making pictures. If the light hits the clouds in the sky at just the right angle, they give off a purplish color that transforms a scene in ways nothing else can.
